Real ingredients. Real results. Skincare that works as nature intended

Who we are

Mountain Daughter Skincare formulates nature based skincare using real ingredients that deliver real results. We leave out synthetic fillers and unnecessary additives—every component has a purpose rooted in nature and research.

Our current line centers on tallow-based formulations enriched with botanicals chosen for their proven skin-supportive properties. Each product is designed to nourish, restore, and respect the skin’s natural function.

We create skincare for people who want clarity in their routines and confidence in what they’re putting on their skin. Our aim is simple: effective formulas that work for all skin types and feel as honest as the ingredients themselves.

About Our Founder

founder of mountain daughter skincare

Payton is the heart and hands behind every Mountain Daughter Skincare formulation. She earned her chemistry degree from Montana State University, with a focus in biochemistry, and has spent the past five years working in research and development. That experience shapes how she approaches skincare—with curiosity, careful study, and a genuine respect for good ingredients.

She dives into the literature, learns from every resource she can, and brings a scientific lens to naturally based formulation. Her love for plant-powered healing and simple, effective ingredients guides everything she creates.

Payton’s journey started in a familiar place: dealing with acne and sensitive skin and feeling let down by expensive products that never delivered. So she began making her own. Today, she formulates with one rule—she won’t make anything she wouldn’t feel good using herself.

Why We Stick to Natural

At Mountain Daughter Skincare, our choices stay simple and intentional. We make everything in small batches so every jar gets the attention it deserves. Ingredients are chosen for what they do, not how trendy they are. We keep formulas straightforward, transparent, and naturally based because your skin doesn’t need complication—it needs support. Our goal is to create products that stay true to their purpose and results.

What We want for You

We want skincare that feels grounding, not overwhelming. Products that your skin can depend on and that you can feel good about using every day. Whether your skin is sensitive, reactive, or just needs a break from heavy routines, we build formulas that support long-term skin health.

FAQs

What makes your products different?

We make everything in small batches with straight-forward, natural ingredients. What’s on the label is exactly what’s in the jar — no fillers, no synthetic shortcuts. You know exactly what you’re putting on your skin.

Is your tallow grass fed?

Yes. Our tallow is sourced locally in Montana from fully grass-fed cattle and rendered at low temperatures to preserve its nutrients. You get a clean, bioavailable tallow that actually supports the skin barrier.

Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

If it wasn’t safe for my own sensitive skin, it wouldn’t be in the lineup. Every formula is tested on my skin first before it ever reaches customers. Most people with reactive skin do well with our minimal-ingredient formulas, but always patch test first — everyone’s skin behaves differently.

Do you accept returns?

Because skincare is personal, we can’t accept used returns. If your order arrives damaged or something isn’t right, reach out and we’ll take care of it. For full details, check our Shipping & Returns policy.

What is your shelf life?

Tallow-based skincare varies with storage. Most products last 6–12 months when kept in a cool, dry place. Warmer conditions shorten the timeline. If you notice any change in texture, color, or smell, it’s time to replace the product.

Can I use your products on kids or babies?

Most unscented formulas are gentle enough for kids, but always patch-test first. Avoid essential-oil blends for infants, and double-check each product label before use.
